Second Masimo Pulse Oximeter Patent Knocked Out at Fed. Cir.

The Federal Circuit upheld an administrative tribunal’s decision nixing a Masimo Corp. patent that’s part of the company’s infringement lawsuit against Sotera Wireless Inc. and its parent Hon Hai Precision Industry Co.

The case concerned US Patent No. RE47,244, which covers an “alarm suspend system” for health monitors that allows a period of delay before an audible alarm sounds. It is one of nine patents Masimo said Sotera and Hon Hai, a Taiwan-based company that uses the trade name Foxconn, infringed.
